it’s gratuitous… from his attempt at sensuality to the overt violence. and I felt that hating the movie was somehow playing into it’s intended purpose. I could just feeel aronofsky behind the camera throughout. so much of the third act was unecessary. what I did love was when she would calibrate the home’s lifeforce thru the walls and I also loved that yellow tincture she would drink and the sharp ringing that would be heard before it. the film had a pretty good build up too. it personified anxiety really well. the director can choke tho
